Bold extra large vintage Zuni six (6) stone turquoise nugget watchcuff! The silversmith has used what appears to be early gem quality Kingman turquoise nuggets which I’ve seen used mainly on early to mid 1970’s. I’d also say they are not treated or stabilized due to harder gem quality and the appearance of color change to a teal blue from human oils and acids. Each stone is set into sawtooth bezels with large silver drops separating each stone from the next. A total of eight (8) silver drops on each side. The artist adds large gauge heavy deep decorative stamped half round wire down both sides on the outer edges of the cuff. All mounted to a blackened oxidized silver base. The artist finishes by adding watch clips and unique cut sunburst feather watch guards to the cuff.

The large watchcuff measures 1 1/2” wide tapering down to 1 1/8” wide at both ends. The watch cavity is 1” wide. It holds a very large inner circumference of 6 7/8” plus a 1 3/8” opening and will fit a wrist of 8” to 8 1/4”. The cuff weighs a hefty 113.8 grams (4.01 oz or 3.66 ozt) and is signed HL stacked with an Arrow separating the Initials. We searched for the corresponding artist, but it does remind me of similar cuffs that Zuni silversmiths Robert and Bernice Leekya use to make? May or may not be a relative? Either way, it’s a nice large wrist size cuff with quality turquoise nuggets! $717.95
