Beautiful bold vintage 50's-60's Navajo/Zuni multi stone inlay Peyote Bird/Thunderbird bracelet! The bracelet displays a large peyote bird/Thunderbird mounted to a hand drawn carinated wire cuff. The bird consists of two (2) cut and polished turquoise stones each from a different mine, two (2) pieces of mother of pearl, three (3) pieces of black jet, and eight (8) pieces of brown/gold tortoise shell all silver channel inlaid. The artist has mounted the bird to a double carinated wire cuff which has been soldered together at each end along with a carinated wire cross support soldered on each side of the bird. The carinated wire appears to be hand drawn whereas some areas appear wider than others. The tortoise has been placed under environmental protections, but this cuff is grandfathered in being made prior to the regulations.

The bird itself measures 2 3/8" by 1 7/8" across with the bracelet measuring 2 3/8" wide with an inner circumference of 5 1/4" and a 1 3/8" opening. It will fit a 6 1/2" to 6 5/8" wrist as is and we don't recommend adjusting. It weighs 38.1 grams (1.34 ounces or 1.22 troy ounces) and is hallmarked with what appears to be a Dragonfly by the artist. The closest I could find to this mark is Navajo artist Austin Wilson who passed on in 1960. Possibly Navajo made, Zuni styled? Nice bold vintage crafted bracelet!  $669.95
