Unique Zuni carved three (3) section and three (3) dimensional mother of pearl and black jet flying eagle necklace. The eagle’s body consists of carved jet with a mother of pearl beak and silver talons/claws. It’s set into a silver holder. The other two (2) sections display both wings. Each set into their own smooth silver holders and are attached to the body with silver hinges which allows them mobility to move. The wings display black jet with mother of pearl mounted on top of the jet. The artist does the detailed carving of the wings. There’s been multiple artist making these in different sizes since the first artist made one. I believe he made the kits for other artists to purchase or other artists’ created their own version and make their own details although some have the full silver base that holds the eagle’s body and some don’t, some have the chains connected at the tip of the wings and like this one, the chains are connected to wire clips on the inside of the wings. I think they come as a kit now where the artist does the carving and details to the eagle and the wings? This artist has finished the necklace using oval link chains with a spring loaded clasp.

The eagle measures 1 5/8” tall by 2” across the wingspan. The necklace measures 19 1/2” long end to end with a wearable length of 10” measured straight down from clasp to end of eagle’s tailfeathers. It weighs 9.3 grams and is stamped STERLING on one wing by the artist. $147.95
