Beautiful Santo Domingo seventy one (71) piece double strand hand carved shell bird fetish necklace and earrings set! The necklace consists of sixty seven (67) small shell carved bird fetishes with thirty three (33) on the short strand and thirty four (67) evenly strung onto the longer strand. The artist uses 2mm shell heshi beads along with one hundred thirty four (134) 2mm sterling silver beads to create the necklace. All strung on cotton twine with decorative stamped 3/4" long sterling cones, a 3mm sterling bead, and sterling hook-n-eye clasp at each end.
The matching earrings display two (2) shell carved bird fetishes with 1mm shell heshi and 1mm sterling beads strung on stiff wire with latching ear hooks. The shell carved birds measure between 9/16" to 5/8" across with the complete necklace measuring 30" and 31" long per strand end to end with a wearable length of 14 3/4" long. The earrings measure 2" by 9/16" across. The complete necklace weighs 37.6 grams (1.33 ounces) with the earrings weigh 1.1 grams each (2.2 grams for the set).
