Beautiful, bold, and heavy Navajo ten (10) piece bear face silver overlay concho belt from the Jack Dean Collection! The belt is made with very thick silver and has nine (9) conchos along with the buckle which are all made the same size. Sporting a growling bear's head overlaid onto a textured silver base. The bear face is framed with smooth silver along with repeating Thunderbird stampwork on a scallop cut silver above and below the bear head. The artist add a decorative cut out that also exposes a textured silver base above and below the repeat stampwork. Each concho has two (2) copper belt slides to hold in place on the belt with the buckle having a swivel type belt clasp and solid pin. Each concho and the buckle measures approximately 2 1/8" by 2 9/16" across) with the complete belt measuring 33" long end to end. It has belt holes set at 28", 29", and 30". Set up for a thin waist woman, but can always add a new longer belt. The belt weighs an extremely healthy 462.8 grams (16.32 ounces or 14.88 troy ounces). The belt is hallmarked AJB connected - STERLING by Navajo silversmith Albert Brown. This concho belt comes out of the Jack Dean Collection and comes with a signed certificate by Mr. Dean. "Captain" Jack Dean is only one of a total of six (6) Texas Rangers to have also been a United States Marshal. Also he is only one of two (2) Texas Rangers to be a U.S. Marshall since 1935. He holds over 40 years experience as a Texas lawman and 10 years as a United States Marshal. The booklet that also comes with the belt has a portfolio of Mr. Dean with picture along with other items that were sold off in his collection.
