Beautiful vintage Navajo thirteen (13) piece coral sunburst concho belt. The silversmith has created thirteen rectangular conchos mounting a large piece of branch coral in the center along with deep stamped sunrays shooting off the coral in each of the four (4) directional paths. The buckle is slightly larger than the other twelve (12) rectangular conchos, but each piece is designed exactly like the others. All added to a black leather belt with double copper belt slides on the back. The buckle sports a swivel type belt clasp with a solid silver belt set post. All of the conchos are made from a thick solid gauge of silver.

The belt buckle measures 1 1/4” tall by 2 1/4” across with each matching concho measuring 1” tall by 1 7/8” across. The black leather belt measures 3/4” wide by 33” long. It has seven (7) buckle set holes starting at 24 3/4” and stopping at 29 1/4” on the belt. To use the first two (2) set holes you’ll need to remove one of the conchos. There’s still 3 1/2” left to add new set holes if needed. You can add new set holes to fit up to a 32 to 32 1/2” waist. The complete concho belt weighs 279.2 grams (9.85 oz or 8.98 ozt) and is hallmarked with a customized “MIKE” - STERLING by the artist. I attribute the creator as Navajo silversmith Jonathan Mike (b.1966), but may be wrong? The hallmark book we use shows two (2) silversmiths using the name “MIKE” with the other being Zuni artist Mike Simplicio (b.1937-1976) and I’m fairly positive it’s not Mike Simplicio.
