Item #919X- Vintage Zuni Raised Multi Stone Koshari Clown Kachina Silver Necklace and Earrings Set by Bev Etsate
Vintage Zuni collector’s Koshari multi stone raised three (3) section necklace and matching earrings set. The Koshari is basically the local clown or community jokester constantly making his audience laugh. Also known to love watermelon! Made by noted Zuni artist Bev Etsate. She has created a three (3) section necklace, (two smaller and one large focal section) each displaying a multiple stone raised figure of the Koshari kachina. She has used turquoise, coral, white mother of pearl, yellow mother of pearl, pink mother of pearl, and black jet to create each section. Each section contains 28-29 individual hand cut pieces to create each Koshari all mounted to a black jet oval background. Each oval section is set into a sawtooth bezel wrapped with twisted wire. The smaller sections are finished with smooth wire running down both sides and a row of eight (8) silver drops running across the top and bottom. The larger focal setting has smooth wire down both sides with eight (8) silver drops across the top and five (5) silver spoons dangling from the bottom. The necklace is completed with a handmade oval link chain with handmade hook-n-eye clasp. The matching earrings display the Koshari’s face using nine (9) cut stones on a black jet oval background. Set in a sawtooth bezel wrapped with twisted wire and an ear hook mounted on the top.
