Beautiful vintage Navajo ten (10) piece turquoise decorative stamped concho belt with custom made double belt! The belt has nine (9) oval conchos with scallop cut edging along with a custom oval buckle with seven (7) large feathers shooting off each side. Each concho has an oval cut and polished blue turquoise stone with heavy brown matrix from the Cerrillos Mines. The beautiful stones are set in smooth bezels and mounted in center of concho. The silversmith adds stamped stars at each of the four directional paths and encircles the concho with a repeating oval frame. The artist finishes each concho with repeating sunrise stamping along the scallop edging. The buckle, as described above, has an open belt run in center flank with a Cerrillos turquoise stone set in smooth bezels above and below the opening. It sports the same repeating stamping across the top and bottom as the conchos along with the large feathers reaching out each side. The feathers are capped with sunrise stamping. The conchos and buckle are mounted to a custom made double belt which appears to have been specifically made for the conchos. The thick high quality belt has similar aspects as a ranger belt and is designed to keep the conchos stationary in place. Each concho has two (2) copper belt slides on the back that ride on the smaller hidden belt and the buckle is attached to a smaller buckle flap that's sewn to the large belt. The conchos measure 2 3/8" by 3 1/8" across with the buckle measuring 2 1/2" by 3" across. The full belt weighs a healthy 534 grams (18.83 ounces or 17.17 troy ounces). The buckle is stamped C.B.M. by the silversmith and is guaranteed Sterling Silver. The main belt measures 1 1/2" wide by 38 1/2" long with set buckle holes starting at 33" up to 36".
